Time:      7.00pm - 8.00pm
Venue:   Online via Zoom

Dr. Claire Griffin will present a suite of four webinars which focus on best practice in support planning across the Continuum of Support, with specific focus on the primary school context. Over the course of four sessions, Dr. Griffin will explore support planning for pupils with additional or Special Education Needs (SEN) across each level of the Continuum of Support. Particular focus will be placed on compiling the Support File and Support Plan at Classroom Support, School Support and School Support Plus levels. Using the NEPS ‘Problem-Solving Approach’ as a framework for practice, attendees will be guided through a four-staged approach to (a) identifying pupil strengths and needs/concerns (b) information gathering & assessing (c) planning & intervening, and (d) reviewing pupil progress. Practical examples of target-setting, creating pupil plans and planning evidence-based pupil interventions will be explored, with due regard for monitoring and reviewing pupil progress. The importance of ‘student voice’ will also be emphasised throughout the planning process, with reference to a host of practical examples for accessing the voice of students with SEN. This suite of webinars is particularly suitable for teachers working in the SET position.
