Target Audience - All teachers, primary to further education, across all subjects.

This four part series of webinars will focus on memory and learning. There will be a combination of theory and evidence alongside practical examples for the classroom. Kate will explore and explain what research findings can tell us about memory, including working memory and cognitive load theory as well as offering practical strategies to support memory in the classroom. Kate Jones is regarded as a leading expert in the field of retrieval practice in the classroom and she will cover the key evidence, principles, task and question design as well as how schools can create a culture of effective learning with students, parents and families.

Bio of Presenter: Kate Jones

Kate Jones is a teacher, experienced leader and Senior Teaching and Learning Associate for Evidence Based Education. Kate began her teaching career in Wales in 2010 and then relocated to the United Arab Emirates in 2016. After five years teaching in Abu Dhabi Kate is now back in the UK. In addition to her teaching and leadership roles Kate is the author of seven books published with John Catt Educational; including the Retrieval Practice series. Kate is also a regular writer for the TES and HWRK magazines. Kate has spoken at various educational events and conferences around the world including Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Middle East and Europe. Kate has collaborated with leading figures in education such as Dylan Wiliam, Doug Lemov and Professor Robert Bjork and is co-authoring her next book with Professor Alan Baddeley. Kate is very active on social media @KateJones_Teach.
