AUT24-146 Teaching History in the 1 Hour Classroom
Date: Thursday September 26th
Time:6:00 pm
Teaching in a 1 hour classroom has been a new experience for many teachers since COVID-19 who were used to 40 minute classes, and although it has been a fixture in many schools for several years now, many teachers are still figuring out how best to approach teaching and learning in this environment.
The structure and planning behind these classes are even more crucial now than before. So join us as we explore how best to approach teaching History in the one hour classroom, with methodologies, resources, and the science behind the one hour classroom all to be delved into to maximise both the teacher and the student’s productivity.
Presenter: Aidan McMahon
Aidan teaches History, Politics and Society, and Mathematics to students with visual impairments in a DEIS school in Dublin. He is the Head of History as well as the Head of PolSoc. Outside of the classroom, Aidan is the Droichead Co-ordinator in his school, as well as the Provision Mapping lead and BfL teacher. Aidan has prior experience of delivering CPD in his school at lunchtime for his colleagues.
