AUT24-165 Agree to Agree Information Webinar
This information session will highlight the benefits of joining the Agree to Agree project- a series of in person workshops delivered & stewarded by Dr Maureen Griffin, Forensic Psychologist and expert in this field. 5 workshops will be delivered in Navan Education support Centre during the course of the school year with the first commencing on October 10th at 7pm.
Agree to Agree is a pro-active initiative aimed at creating the space for a joined approach to device usage to foster positive outcomes for students in this digital age. The project sets out clear goals and opens deeper discussions around students’ digital wellbeing using a collaborative school/home approach inclusive of school leaders, teachers, students, parents and school management.
National Schools across Ireland, recognise and value the role of ICT in education.
However, due to first-hand experience, they are also acutely aware of the
negative impact the inappropriate use of ICT can have on pupils academic
performance and their social and emotional well-being. The vast majority of online issues and incidents happen outside of school hours, however, the fallout is having a real and significant impact on the social and emotional well-being of pupils during the school day. Teachers are also facing
increased pressures, where there is often an expectation that they will ‘fix’ an
online issue.
