This engaging three-part webinar series will guide you step-by-step through creating a class podcast, from exploring podcast formats and assigning pupil production roles, to researching, scripting, recording, editing and publishing your finished show. Designed specifically for primary teachers, the course provides practical tools, templates and manageable strategies to make podcasting achievable in any school setting. No advanced technical skills required.

Teachers will learn how to:

  • Structure and manage a class podcast project
  • Develop pupils’ oral language, writing and presentation skills
  • Teach research, editing and media literacy in an engaging way
  • Use simple recording equipment and editing software confidently
  • Publish and promote a class podcast safely

Bio of Presenter: Céire O’Donoghue

Céire O’Donoghue is a podcast producer and creative facilitator with over 15 years’ experience in audio production and youth arts. Céire has created and produced two award-winning series for RTÉjr Radio, KidCast and KidCast School Tour. The latter has involved working directly with primary schools across Ireland turning classes into production teams and classrooms into recording studios to create original, pupil-led audio broadcasts. Through her process she supports classes and their teachers from initial ideas through research, scripting, recording and editing while gaining an understanding of how media is made, how to evaluate information critically and how to communicate responsibly in a digital world.
