In this webinar we will look at some ways to support plurilingal learners across the curriculum. EAL learners are learning English, but also learning through English too. Specific teaching strategies and resources are therefore needed to make the language of the curriculum accessible to plurilingual learners.
I will share some adaptable approaches that will enhance language development and support full participation for every learners in your classroom. We will also look at some case studies and everyone will leave equipped with strategies ready to implement immediately.
Presenter - Kirsten Barrett
Kirsten Barrett is a Scottish primary school teacher. She taught for 15 years in Scotland with a speciality of English as an Additional Language (EAL). During that time she has spoken at various events and is keen to continue fostering collaborative environments within the community.
Currently embarking on her Masters in Education at UCC, she is a keen reader of children’s books and a huge advocate for Reading for Pleasure.
